A Thanksgiving card is something that is not expected by most people. It is not like a Christmas card or a birthday card. This greeting card is more like an optional or selective one. While there are many different Thanksgiving greetings created each year, and many people DO buy them to send out to family and friends, it is still not a holiday that everyone assumes they will get a card for. In fact, it is more of a special and sweet surprise when one of these cards is received. It shows that the sender really does care about the receiver and is happy to use any excuse to say so.

Now, if you choose to not send a Thanksgiving card to someone, that does not mean that you have made some sort of social faux pas. It simply means that you may not be a big greeting card sender. Or it can mean that you just were so busy with the actual preparations of Thanksgiving that you did not have the time to do it. This does not mean that you have done anything wrong or rude because there is not a written rule that cards must, or should, be sent out at Thanksgiving.

If you choose to send out a Thanksgiving card to someone, though, there are many ways to do it. There are the Hallmark stores, or other specialty card shops that will carry these. You can choose the perfect card for everyone on your list. There are even machines now that allow you to create your very own unique cards for every occasion. These can be a lot of fun. For the very busy person who is on the go all the time, there are eGreetings. There are so many of these to choose from, it may take you longer to sift through them than just going to the card shop. But they are easy to send as they go right to the recipient’s email account.

Young children may have making a Thanksgiving card part of their lessons or craft time at school. These are the cards that parents truly treasure and keep forever. Those little hands that crafted these unique cards will grow into adult hands one day, but that sweet reminder of childhood will always remain with their parents. This may be the start of a tradition in families and there will be homemade Thanksgiving cards every year for parents and grandparents. It is sure to be something they will look forward each year.
