There are many reasons to write and give a Thanksgiving Address. These are usually done for more formal settings that have been planned well in advance for different public or even private organizations. This can include churches, civil clubs, and even the military can host something that will require speeches along with the food. Country leaders may also have their speech writers to work up something for them to say to the citizens of their respective countries. It is a time when people need to hear words of encouragement so that they can regain a positive focus in their lives.
